Buffalo Woman Dies in Her Car

Taylor sent her family a goodbye video from inside her car the day before she was discovered dead, from what her mother believes was carbon monoxide poisoning rather than hypothermia. No cause of death has been revealed so far. She showed off her car stuck in the snow shortly after midnight on Saturday, December 24, as a terrifying wind howled outside of it. Her friends and family members urged others in the neighborhood to help after seeing the video, eventually locating her sometime after Saturday afternoon.

Taylor, who lived in Charlotte, North Carolina after being born and raised in Buffalo, returned to New York earlier this year to care for her father. The 22-year-old’s mother and sister discussed the agony of obtaining the gruesome footage and the wait afterward with WCOS in North Carolina.

Taylor informed her family members that she had been stranded in the snow when she was coming home from work and that it was raining heavily a group chat for the family. In the 16-second clip, Taylor can be seen sliding out the snow-covered window to reveal a wintry scene.

Taylor’s relatives told local Charlotte media that they were unaware of the seriousness of the situation in western New York. “I don’t know if any of us really knew how bad it was, we didn’t watch the news, we didn’t really know what was going on in Buffalo,” Sister Shawnequa Brown said.

Tomeshia Brown, Taylor’s other sister, claimed that while some people had tried to save her and her car, her efforts had been ineffective. “I feel like everyone who tried to get to her got stuck,” Tomeshia said. “Fire department, police, everyone was trapped.” “Why didn’t they have chains on their tires? This is a state known for snow,” Tomeshia said. Taylor’s cause of death has yet to be determined, and local law enforcement has yet to confirm that she was one of the victims of the storm.

The historic “once-in-a-lifetime” storm has killed 57 people across the country in weather-related incidents. In Erie County, where Buffalo is located, 27 deaths had been officially reported as of Monday night.
