Killed in Tragic Accident
“Lord, please pray for my sister Breanna Chadwick. He had a terrible accident,” his sister Kirsten Chadwick said in a Facebook post after the incident. “We need all the prayers we can get for him. They’re airlifting him to Erlanger Hospital and the Drs told them to prepare [for the worst]!”
Chadwick, a native of Canton, Georgia, died of his injuries Friday, according to his obituary.
“She always had a beautiful smile and was full of arrogance,” she said in her obituary. “You can always find him eating lemonade at Chick-fil-A or a scoop of birthday cake ice cream at Bruster’s. He loved teal and his jeep and Lily and Peanuts, but most of all he loved his family and friends.”
“He grew up playing baseball, basketball, and lacrosse and was going to Reinhardt University to become a 3rd-grade teacher,” the obituary continues. “He loved all the kids and they loved him too. It has touched many lives and will continue for many years to come.”
The Saddle Club held a candlelight vigil for Chadwick on Friday night.
“After many tears and heavy thoughts, we spoke to a member of the Chadwick family,” the club said in a Facebook post. “At [their] request, the demonstrations will continue and a parade will be held. We’re holding a candlelight vigil in honor of Breanna Chadwick. We will also present ribbons to those who want to wear them at the parade and the remaining shows of the week.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the Chadwick family cover medical bills and funeral expenses, as well as raise a scholarship fund for Breanna, organizers said. About $23,000 has been raised so far.
