The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet was the first to name Mr. Alpergin as the person killed, while Ismail Karakas of the Turkish Press described him as “London’s beloved radio DJ”.

He said: “The Turkish Society of London is in mourning! We express our condolences to Tuncay Beykozlu, Koray’s bereaved father, and his loved ones.

“As a Turkish Press newspaper, we wish God have mercy on the late DJ Koray, who left us at a young age. Our condolences to his family and loved ones.”

On Friday afternoon, Metropolitan Police officers rushed to a house in Enfield, north London, following reports that a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s were missing.

Officers were working to find the couple before the reported discovery by Essex Police.

Detectives believe the man reported missing is the man found in Loughton. A post-mortem examination and identification of the form will be carried out in due course.

The woman has been located and is physically unharmed.

The police are providing specialized support to her and the family of the deceased.
