Elizabeth Gomes Wiki – Elizabeth Gomes Bio

Elizabeth Gomes, a mother of five who was mercilessly beaten by a homeless maniac in a Queens subway station, revealed her horrific injuries Tuesday, while desperately pleading with Mayor Eric Adams.

“Our city needs a lot of help,” said Elizabeth Gomes after removing her sunglasses to show the injuries from the horrific attack caught on camera, which included eyes swollen shut and a nasty cut on her right side.

Elizabeth Gomes is 33 years old.

Subway Attack Reveals Gruesome injuries

“We’re going through a lot here,” the 33-year-old told The Post.

“I remember hearing that they would have police stationed on the platforms, on the trains, police on the subway. Mayor Adams said especially on the subway,” she said.

“The mayor said we would have a lot more police on the subway and the police specifically would be patrolling the subways because that’s where we’re having the worst crime. Especially in places like the Howard Beach station.

“There weren’t any. Why isn’t their protection there?” she said, referring to her morning attack on September 20 at the Howard Beach subway station.

“Obviously the government or nobody is doing anything for us,” the married mother said in a separate interview with her husband minutes earlier outside her home.

“When we are out there, we are alone, we are fighting these battles alone, and what they do is try to help other countries that have nothing to do with what we are going through in ours. place.”

Gomes, when later asked by The Post who he meant by “them,” replied: “The mayor, the governor.

“Like Eric Adams, our mayor, going to Puerto Rico,” she said, referring to Hizzoner’s weekend trip to what he called the city’s “sixth ward” to see what it needed after a devastating hurricane.

It was then that he added that the Big Apple needs “great help” because of everything that “is going on.”

Adams declined to comment to The Post, and his office referred questions to the New York police.

In April, he promised to double the number of NYPD officers on the subways after the horrific Brooklyn station shooting that injured 28 people.

Two months later, he said the NYPD would start solo patrolling the subways so the police could cover more ground. The move ended a partnership patrol security policy that had been instituted after the double street killing of officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos nearly 10 years earlier.

Gomes, a security guard at JFK airport, was on her way to work when she was randomly attacked by a ranting homeless man, identified by police as ex-convict granny killer Waheed Foster, who was still on parole for a 2010 assault.

She and her husband said she wandered the station for 20 minutes looking for help after she was attacked. They said the MTA worker who was supposed to be in the subway booth at the time was on a bathroom break.

An MTA official told The Post that both the MTA and the Port Authority staff the booth.

“The cab agent in the middle of the New York City Transit cab in Howard Beach was on what we call a ‘comfort break’ from 5:10 a.m. to 5:19 a.m.,” the official said.

The Palestinian Authority did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“I was very surprised,” Gomes said of the lack of security, including the police. “They are usually there. There is always some kind of protection at the Howard Beach station.

“I’m used to seeing people from the Port Authority there. I’m used to seeing, yes, [Port Authority police] are there.

Her husband, Clement Tucker, added: “There was no security in the cabin.

“There were no police. The person who should have been in the booth was in the bathroom. They came out 20 minutes after she was attacked.

“She was walking and no one was there to help her,” she said.

“Look into my wife’s eyes?” Tucker said. “She can’t see anything with her eyes.”

He said her wife could lose sight in her right eye and faces further surgery.

Gomes said through tears: “I am afraid to even leave my house.

“I don’t even want to take the train. You know, I love my job so much, and a part of me, like, doesn’t want to go back because I’m scared.

“My life has changed. Everything has changed,” said the mother, whose children are 13, 12, 9, 8, and 3 years old.

Gomes said she had been working at the Queens airport for about 10 years when she was attacked around 5:15 a.m., with her attacker ranting about Satan.

Police said Foster’s previous crimes include beating her grandmother to death when she was 14.

“What this lunatic did by brutalizing a public transit passenger is beyond outrageous, and we will work with Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz to make sure he is not at liberty to terrorize more New Yorkers,” he told The Post the MTA’s New York City Transit chairman, Richard Davey.
