Kevin Conroy Wiki – Kevin Conroy Bio

Kevin Conroy, who famously voiced Batman on multiple television shows, has died. The star’s death was confirmed Friday by Diane Pershing, a voice actress who worked alongside Conroy on multiple projects.

Conroy, who was born in New York and raised in Connecticut, attended Juilliard, where he was roommates with Robin Williams. After graduating, he appeared in Shakespearean plays, soap operas, and sitcoms, landing guest roles on “Murphy Brown” and “Cheers.” However, his career didn’t fully take off until he started playing Batman at age 30.

Kevin Conroy was Openly Gay

Conroy, who was openly gay, won praise earlier this year for writing his own story titled “Finding Batman,” a work chronicling his life and experiences as a gay man.

He is survived by his husband, Vaughn C. Williams.

Conroy began voicing Batman/Bruce Wayne in “Batman: The Animated Series,” which ran from 1992 to 1995. His distinctive deep voice soon became synonymous with the cartoon character, who he voiced in several other projects for the next two-plus decades.

Conroy’s final project was the 2019 animated film “Justice League vs. the Fatal Five,” produced by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment.

Cause of Death

“Very sad news: our beloved Batman voice Kevin Conroy passed away yesterday,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “He’s been sick for a while, but he really put in a lot of time on the cons, to the delight of all his fans. He will be sorely missed not only by the cast of the series but also by his legion of fans around the world.”

Cancer has been reported as the cause of death.
