Family Mourns Store Manager Death
“I don’t know exactly what happened,” the victim’s devastated father told WSB-TV. DeKalb County police said Feuerstein was a manager at the Hollywood Feed store in Tucker, where he noticed a driver making donuts in the store’s parking lot. The employee went outside to try to prevent the driver from endangering the lives of others. “[To] prevent this kid from hurting anyone and he probably went out to prevent him from going to jail as well,” Feuerstein’s father said.
The police report indicates that the driver struck Feuerstein and drove away. The offender was found a short time later and taken into custody. “The diligent work of our Traffic Specialist Unit led to the identification and location of the suspect vehicle,” DeKalb police said in a statement. They said they found the driver wearing the same clothing as the alleged hit-and-run and was arrested without incident. The suspect is now being charged with vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving along with hit and run. Police confirmed that they were unable to release the driver’s name and age due to his underage status.
